Digital Installation

An art installation is a site-specific art work, created for a specific gallery or space and providing an art experience for the viewer. Contemporary installations are often digital, incorporating video, light and sounds controlled by a computer or digital technology alone or with traditional media.

Installation art emerged in the 1970's along with the rise of conceptual art. The addition of digital elements appeared late in the 20th century.
