Acrylic Paints

You can see/purchase acrylic paint at Rex Art Supplies

Acrylic paint, pigment with a binder of acrylic polymer emulsion, is a relatively new medium, developed in the early part of the 20th century. It became very popular with modern artists by mid century because of its versatality, durability and vibrant colors. It was at this time that artists were exploring modern art movements and acrylics suited their needs well.

Acrylics can be applied straight from the container in thick strokes or thinned with water, similar to watercolors. Other media can be easily mixed with acrylics as well as a variety of additives to alter the texture of the paint. Acrylic painting is popular with students also because of its low toxicity, permanence, and water solubility.
